Today, I got a text message from my sister Kathy saying that she had "talked" to Kevin on the phone and that he was able to say her name...well, I got so excited, I immediately called Kim's cell phone and said I wanted to see if he will talk to me on the phone. As she is laughing at me, I can hear her saying "here Kevin...it's Aunt Debby, she want to say hello". So I'm probably yelling a little too loud into the phone because I am so excited, and I say "Hi Kevin and he said "Hi Aunt Debby!! I told him I loved him and he said I love you back!
I would not trade that brief conversation for anything in the world! It was the highlight of my day.
And, just because he is working so hard, I am going to bring him a special present this week.... a squirt gun! Hope the nurses don't get too mad at me.
